Welcome to New River LandCare. This website is for you and everyone else living in the New River Valley to participate in creating a secure economic and environmental future for ourselves and our children. In these time of unprecedented challenges, we must care for ourselves and our communities by working together.
This website is our newspaper, and we're the reporters letting each other know what we're doing and learning how we can join in to lend a hand.
Rather than complain about the past and present, share what you're doing and would like to do to make this valley a better place.
To quote Mikki Giovanni after the tragedy at Virginia Tech: "We're better than we think but not as good as we want to be."
The goals of New River LandCare are:
- A secure economic future,
- A sustainable valley with clean pure water and clean skies, and
- community services (education, health, public safety) that make possible our dreams come true.
